Governor Of Uncommon Style: Fayose Appoints 72-Year-Old Farmer As Council Boss

Ayodele Fayose, the governor of Ekiti state, has appointed a 72-year-old carpenter Olatunde Afolayan as the caretaker chairman of Moba local government.

This Day reports that Fayose also sworn in members of the State Independent Electoral Commission, headed by Justice Kayode Bamisile, a retired Chief Judge of the state.


After administering the oaths on the appointees, Fayose again called on Muhammadu Buhari to remove Amina Zakari as the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission. He also urged the president to be equitable in appointing the national electoral commissioners.


Apart from Afolayan, the governor appointed Omolara Bayode Ayeni and Owolabi Ajewole as superintendents of Ikole and Ijero councils respectively.

On Friday, August 28, Fayose took to his official Twitter handle to explain why he appointed the farmer as the caretaker chairman of LGA.


 





Meanwhile, the Ekiti state chapter of the All Progressives Congress has evaluated Fayose’s 10 months in office. According to the party, the governor’s achievement include conducting of road shows, buying pepper and tomatoes in open markets.
