Robert Wright was cooking when his house in Fresno, California, USA, caught fire from the apartment adjacent to his own. But the man didn’t lose his courage and managed to save both – his family and his food.

As soon as he smelt smoke Mr Wright rushed to the room, where his wife and child were sleeping and rescued them from a burning building, whereupon he returned home and grabed the huge slab of ribs he had been grilling. While giving interview Mr Wright explained his risky behaviour by saying that he didn’t want to let his food burn and, moreover, he was very hungry at that time.

But the man didn’t lose his courage and managed to save both – his family and his food

“The only thing I think first is, ‘make sure them ribs is right’ and ran over and got my family, man.I got my kid and wife first, then I thought about my ribs, I didn’t want to let the ribs burn, I take pride in what I do, man. I didn’t get any injuries except for all the smoke in my lungs, but I already had smoke in my lungs so I’m alright.”

Fortunately, Mr Wright as well as his family escaped with slight shock and didn’t ask for any treatment.
