Dakuku Peterside, the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress during the 2015 election has assured his supporters that Governor Nyesom Wike will soon cease to be the governor of Rivers state.
He and his party have already approached the governorship tribunal sitting in Abuja with the claim that elections did not hold in some parts of the state and that the election should be cancelled.

Premium Times reports that Peterside accused the government of contaminating the standard of the state that had maintained a high sense of integrity in the past. He said he had faith in the judicial system to cancel the result of the election that brought Wike in.
“No government that chooses this path can earn the trust of the people. This is the reason why no responsible elder or founding father of the state wants to be associated with this government,”
He however expressed confidence that it will soon be over hinting that he would occupy the position.

“Let us with continuing, unwavering faith in the True God and confidence in our judicial institutions, trust that we shall soon see the end of this era of impunity, directionlessness and crass disregard for the rights of our people and the constitution of our nation.
“Regardless of the darkness that has enveloped our state, we know that there is light at the end of the tunnel and we vow to leave no stone unturned until our people have reached their well-deserved Eldorado,” he said.
Earlier, Dr. Dakuku Peterside, the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) accused the Rivers state government under Governor Nyesom Wike as being dishonest by telling the people that he met an empty treasury.
