President Muhammadu Buhari has reacted to the twin bomb blast which rocked Kuje, and Nyanya, two satellite towns of Abuja on Friday night.
“My heart goes out to the families of the dead and injured in Abuja, and other parts of the country,” the president said.

According to Femi Adeshina, the president’s special adviser on media and publicity, Buhari was distressed about the Abuja bomb blasts and federal government delegations were visiting hospitals to see the wounded.
Though no group has claimed responsibility for the October 2 attacks, it is believed to have been perpetuated by the Boko Haram terrorist group.
Also reacting to the blasts, John Chukwu, the permanent secretary of the Federal Capital Territory Administration described the attack which claimed many lives as “heartless and an act of wickedness on soft targets, which has no place in our history and tradition.”
Chukwu sympathized with the victims of the blasts, particularly those who lost their loved ones, Punch reports.

He also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured persons.
The permanent secretary urged residents to be more security conscious, assuring that the FCT administration would continue to work closely with the security agencies to ensure that the lives and properties of FCT residents were safe.
Wilson Inalegwu, the FCT police commissioner also condemned the unfortunate act.
The FCT has witnessed bomb explosions on several occasions in the past years. In 2010, twin bomb blasts had marred the country’s 50th anniversary.
On April 14, 2014, many people lost their lives as the Boko Haram insurgents attacked Nyanya. On May 1, there was another bomb explosion at the same bus terminal in Nyanya and people were killed.
