Super Sunday: Arsenal Can Win The Premier League – Arsene Wenger

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says his team can win the Barclays Premier League beginning with a win over Manchester United on Sunday October 11.

Speaking at a pre-match conference, Wenger sarcastically questioned journalist how they would feel if he said Arsenal would not defeat Manchester United at home and go on to lift the premier league.

Arsenal are three points behind Manchester United who they welcome to the Emirates stadium on Sunday.

The Gunners boss said: “If I tell you now that we are three points behind Man United, playing Man United at home and I don’t believe that we can win the Premier League, what do you tell me? You will slaughter me.

“We play in the Premier League on Sunday. We have just won 5-2 at Leicester, so I don’t see why we should be absolutely down. We are on the back of three or four good results in the league.”

Reacting to Arsenal defeat at home to Olympiakos in the Champions League, Wenger said the match will be analysed and be used as motivation to defeat United.

He said: “We had a disappointment in the Champions League, we have to analyse it well. But I don’t see why we should not believe we can beat Man United.”

“It was disappointing to lose, but overall every competition is different, you have to go in a different competition in a different state of mind and we have to be inspired by what we did at Leicester.”

Super Sunday sees Arsenal welcome Mnchester United while Everton welcome Liverpool. In other leagues Atletico Madrid play Real Madrid while Bayern will hope to continue their 100% start to the season will a win against visiting Dortmund.
